三洋電機のオーディオ部門のトップだった黒崎正彦(65)がシリコンバレーを訪ねたのは1997年秋のことだ。アップル再建のために復帰したばかりのス ティーブ・ジョブズに面会し、記憶媒体を内蔵する携帯音楽プレーヤーを使って、音楽コンテンツを配信するビジネス案を披露した。

　 だが、構想はあっけなく頓挫する。「音楽？コンテンツ？あきまへん」「これからは情報システムでっせ」。黒崎は会長だった井植敏(75)からこう言われ た。「なにわ版iPod」構想はお蔵入りし、その後、復活したアップルと今も再建のメドが立たない三洋の差は余りにも激しい。
